Lenovo launches A6000 in India available at Rs. 7,000
Chinese technoloy giant Lenovo revealed the countrys’ most affordable 4G LTE smartphone, charged at Rs. 7,000 as it looks to cash in on booming demand for high speed data services.
Lenovos’ A6000 was revealed at the CES in the Las Vegas last week. The device has been aggressively charged to compete with Xiaomis Redmi Note 4G, priced at Rs. 9,999 and Yu’s maiden device, Yureka priced at Rs. 8,999.
LTE, is standard for the wireless communication of high speed data for the mobile phones and the data terminals.
‘This is perhaps the most value for the money LTE device in India, the ‘A6000’ promises the perfect balance of a speed, performance & ergonomics. With 2015 expected to be year of 4G LTE, we are committed to take on this new technology & give consumers the best performance,’ Lenovo India Director Smartphones Sudhin Mathur told to reporters.
Lenovo has a partnered homegrown eCommerce major was Flipkart to sell the device exclusively.
Following flash sale model, consumers would have to pre register to be an eligible for the sale on 28Jan. The company, though, did not reveal the number of devices that would be put up for sale in first round.
‘According to reports, number of 3G & 4G users is estimated to be over 200 million by 2018 in the country. That is huge opportunity. The right picture can be provided by telecom operators, who are offering these services – we are in discussions with an operators’, he said.
Bharti Airtel & Aircel have launched the 4G services in few cities in country. However, Reliance Jio Infocomm that is only the company with pan India license, is yet to be launch its services.
Lenovos’ A6000 supports both LTE bands in India, FDD 1800MHz Band 3 and TDD 2300MHz Band 40.
It is Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz quadcore processor, the handset has five inch display, Android KitKat operating system, with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory expandable upto 32GB.
It features 8mega pixel rear and 2 mega pixel front camera and 2300 mAh battery.
The A6000 is designed for youth or millennials who want trendy phone loaded with the future proof features and yet not being heavy on pocket, he said.
